The things that actually matter
Short, and in plain words. This is a pilot; if your agency needs a fuller agreement before you can use it, write to us and we will work from your paper.
Last updated 14 October 2026 · Ideation Lab, Corp. · these terms cover the private pilot of govbot.ai and, in the section below, the public Ask trial and the public data connector.
Access
Access is by invitation, for the agency work it was granted for, and may be withdrawn. There is no public sign-up and no trial. Your sign-in link identifies you — do not share it.
What the software is
Preparation software. It reads the public record and the documents you upload, and shows you what it found with the source beside it.
It is advisory. It does not file anything, it does not decide anything, and it makes no promise about any funding outcome.
Accuracy, and its limits
The software uses AI, and AI can be wrong. Public records can also be out of date or incomplete at the source. Everything is shown with a citation so it can be checked, and it must be checked before anyone relies on it. The service is provided as-is, without warranty.
The applicant remains responsible for every number and statement submitted to FEMA.
Your work is yours
You keep ownership of everything you upload and everything you submit to FEMA. We claim no rights over it. How it is handled and who processes it is set out in the privacy notice.
Acceptable use
Use it for the agency work it was granted for. Do not attempt to access another account's material, and do not share your sign-in link.
The public data connector (mcp.govbot.ai)
This section applies to the MCP connector at
https://mcp.govbot.ai/mcp/, and equally to the Ask trial page at
govbot.ai/ask.html. The Access section above describes the private pilot
workspace and does not apply to either: both are public, and the Ask trial needs a sign-in only
after its free questions.
- What it is. A read-only service that returns bounded records from public data publishers. It writes nothing, files nothing, and does not decide eligibility, award status, legal effect or safety.
- Accuracy. Each record is the publisher's, shown with its source. Public records can be out of date or incomplete, and the assistant using the connector can misread them. Check the record at the publisher before relying on it. The service is provided as-is, without warranty.
- Use. Stay within the published rate limit and do not attempt to bypass it or to use the connector for anything other than reading public data. Publishers' own terms apply to their data.
- Availability. The connector may be changed, limited or withdrawn at any time. Sources listed as in preparation on the connector page are not available.
- Privacy. What the connector receives and keeps is set out in the privacy notice.
Changes
If these terms change materially during the pilot, we will say so to the accounts affected rather than quietly re-dating this page.
